Chocolate Orange Cake Balls

These gluten-free, refined sugar-free and oil-free delicious nutrient-rich balls provide an instant boost of energy with uplifting orange zest, iron, omega 3 fats, calcium, and protein.

 

Store them in the fridge for whenever you need a chocolate fix!

 

Recipe Ingredients

Makes 8 balls

1.5 cups oat flour

1/2 cup ground almonds

10 pitted dates

1tsp vanilla extract

3/4 cup cacao powder ( save some for dusting)

1 tablespoon low fat tahini

1 orange – juice and zest

50ml water

 

Dish Preparation

10 Minutes – No Cooking

To make the oat flour, blitz oats to a fine powder in a high speed blender

Pour oat flour into a bowl

Add dates to a blender, add the water and orange juice and blitz to a date syrup

Add the date syrup and remaining ingredients to bowl of oat flour

Mix well to form a crumbly dough texture

Shape into balls and place on a board

Coat each ball in cacao powder, by sprinkling a little over them and rolling each ball in the powder 

Refrigerate for 1 hour until set
