How We Can Help
What to Expect in Your First Nutritional Therapy Appointment
Our first consultation is all about getting to know you and understanding your unique situation. The aim is to create a supportive, non-judgemental space where you feel comfortable and heard.
- Welcome: comfy chairs and a cup of tea.
- Meeting You Where You Are: We’ll move at your pace, and I will only suggest changes you feel ready for. Everything is step by step – no pressure, no judgement.
- Fact-Finding First: The beginning of the appointment is focused on listening and gathering information – your health history, current concerns, food preferences, lifestyle, and most importantly, your personal aims and goals.
- Flexibility: If you’d prefer, we can meet remotely. In-person consultations can sometimes allow me to observe additional details (such as nails, tongue, or simple checks like a zinc taste test), but these are optional and be assured, there will be no weighing or measuring involved.
- Working Together: From the information you share, we’ll build a plan together. It will always be achievable, realistic, and tailored to support you in the best possible way.
- Follow up: Resources to take away and a written plan so you don’t have to remember everything on the day!
You’ll receive a concise solution to put you on the path to a healthy life through our Key Health Nutrition Programme (see below) or one-off and follow up courses of nutritional therapy consultations. You can book either of these through our booking form on the contact and booking page.
Support for cancer patients
I support clients who are going through active treatment by offering nutrition and lifestyle recommendations with the aim to improve quality of life.
I have completed additional post-graduation cancer support training, and I am featured on the BANT (British Association for Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine) register of practitioners qualified to work with cancer patients.
BANT nutrition practitioners who have undertaken additional training in cancer nutrition combine a network approach to complex systems, incorporating the latest science from genetic, epigenetic, diet and nutrition research to inform individualised recommendations and support individuals.
Active Cancer Care
I work in an integrative capacity, meaning that I keep a client’s oncologist and medical team fully updated with any recommendations I suggest.
If you or a loved one has cancer concerns and are seeking complementary nutrition support throughout your cancer journey, then please do book in for a discovery call.

Supplements
PUTTING YOURSELF FIRST
We tend to our gardens, we take care of our homes, we maintain our cars, we put our kids first, but do we take proper care of ourselves?
Self care is critical because when we nourish ourselves, we are more resilient to life’s challenges and better able to look after those around us.
But sometimes we get so busy, we forget about the most important person – YOU! When we’re running around it’s easy to pay little attention to our body’s physical, mental, and emotional state.
Eating foods that are not serving us, not getting enough sleep, illness, physical or emotional stress means our bodies will have an increased need for certain nutrients. We can soon get depleted of essential energy-giving nutrients like zinc, B vitamins, magnesium and antioxidants.
Many studies point out the essential role of vitamins and minerals when it comes to supporting great overall health. Nutritional imbalances throw off our hormones and increase risk of infectious, allergic, and inflammatory diseases.
The properties of certain vitamin supplements are linked with decreased infections and stronger immunity. (1)
If you’re suffering from low energy, frequent infections, allergies or food intolerances, mood swings, lack of motivation or simply want to ensure all your nutritional bases are covered, it might be worth considering the addition of appropriate quality nutrient supplements to your daily routine.
Getting a well-balanced composition of nutrients from natural sources could help plug optimal nutritional gaps and establish the balance needed for healing to be accelerated.
FOOD FIRST
You need some 90+ minerals and trace minerals, several vitamins, a variety of ortho molecular nutrients like plant antioxidants, probiotics, and enzymes for the body to function effectively. You’ve heard the saying ‘You are what you eat’ – food is information for the body. But really ‘You are what you absorb’, because this can vary from person to person.
Supplementing is by no means a replacement for a healthy diet and lifestyle, but rather a synergistic addition to it.
Choosing a supplement that’s right for you can be a daunting process. To the average person the market appears to be saturated with supplements and we can become easily confused by all of the advertisements telling us about the next best thing. Truth is, there is never ‘one single’ supplement that is going to be the miracle answer to all your health issues, and it is easy to waste your money on supplements that are not going to be effective or suitable for you.
This is why we take an individual approach and only after a full assessment, nutritional supplements may be recommended as part of your diet and lifestyle plan. Supplements will only be prescribed where indicated, at therapeutic and specific doses that are right for you.
We use professional grade supplements, formulated by reputable companies who base their products on the latest scientific research. Your supplement programme will be reviewed at each consultation and checked for interactions with any other medication you may take.
If supplements are recommended as part of your plan, you will be sent a link to order directly to your home, with clear guidance on how to take them. Of course, all recommendations carry no obligation to order and are made within your budget and ethical preference.
Always seek advice from a qualified healthcare practitioner before taking supplements.
