Breakfast Porridge

Keep a can of chickpeas in the cupboard so you will always have to hand the ingredients to whip up a batch of hummus. By making your own you get to control the ingredients to ensure low oil, in line with a whole food plant based diet.

Recipe Ingredients

Four Servings

Chickpeas, 1 400g can (2/3rds drained).

Garlic, 1 clove, (crushed).

Lemon juice, 2tbsp

Tahini*, 2tsp

Paprika, 1tsp (for garnish

Dish Preparation

10 Minutes

Add the garlic, lemon juice, tahini and all but a handful of chickpeas (including the water from the can) into a food processor or blender. Blend for a few minutes until smooth.

Once a creamy paste has been formed, transfer into a bowl and add the remaining chickpeas on top and garnish with the paprika.

Serve with vegetable crudités
